After almost two years using this blog as a journal, scrapbook, and mental catch-all, I’ve decided I want to make a few changes. There have been a lot of personal shifts in my life lately, so that this blog’s original purpose (an honest, uncensored venting space) is no longer as necessary. Also, over time I have started to take a more pointed interest in art, design, and aesthetics, which has shown here. For the last few months, I’ve been nurturing a dream to start a new blog, with all original content, that focuses on an overall lifestyle built around beauty. This blog will also be called Missie Sue, and can be found at www.missiesue.com. Ideally, I’d love to be able to expand Missie Sue in the next five to ten years into a blog/printed magazine partnership, but that’s a ways off. For now, I’m trying to set up a posting schedule, with new content every Wednesday and Saturday, with the first post going up this coming Wednesday, the seventh. Check in to see if you like what I’m doing, and follow if it’s up your ally. I’d like to thank the people that have been kind enough to read and follow what I put out at this little corner of the web. I’ll be leaving this current tumblr up, but will no longer be posting here. Christmas Shopping Series: Small Treasures
Every holiday, I tend to pick a theme around which to buy gifts, wrap presents, decorate the house, etc. One of my favorite gift themes is buying lots of small, exquisitely-made objects to wrap like little gems for friends and family. There’s something so needlessly luxurious about tiny precious things. Here are a few of the petite treasures I have my eye on this holiday season.
A friend from school just got engaged yesterday. She’s a really talented graphic designer, and her fiance stepped up to the plate, designing a gorgeous bespoke engagement ring from the London jewelers Guy & Max.
